Taieri Gorge

Entry 38, on 2004-04-04 at 22:39:33 (Rating 1, Travel)

I went with Phillip on a Kea (Keas are junior scouts) outing today. We travelled on the Taieri Gorge Excursion Train out to Pukerangi and back.

I have always wanted to do this trip because of the spectacular scenery through the gorge so I was really happy when the mystery train trip ended up being on this particular track.

Well the trip was as good as I has hoped. The track is an amazing piece of engineering considering it was built with such primitive tools almost 100 years ago. Click the link to see photos of the trip.
