(Up to OJB's Styles Page) Old Coach Road Chardonnay 2001Tasted: | 31 Dec 2002 (age 1 year) | Name: | Old Coach Road (84) | Variety: | Chardonnay (6) | Year: | 2001 | Producer: | Old Coach Road | Region: | Nelson | Rating: | ok+ | Web Site: | http://www.seifried.co.nz | | The colour was bright yellow gold, it was quite oily, with quite heavy legs. This wine had a strong citrus melon fruit bouquet with some stalky wood. The taste was quite full, and it had a buttery feel, lime citrus fruit, and a crisp dry oak finish. This wine was fairly intense, a well balanced medium bodied style. Recommended by Wine Estate magazine. |
Note 1 I am not really a wine expert (just an enthusiastic amateur), so please don't take my recommendations as anything more than a rough guide to these wines. I can take no responsibility if you buy a lot, on my recommendation, and then regret it! Note 2 You may not agree with my evaluation of these wines as a lot of this is quite subjective. I tend to put a lot of emphasis on complexity and intense characteristic flavours and bouquet, so if you disagree you might just have different priorities. ![[Up]](../XuShared/Up2B.jpeg)
