What a Result!

Entry 263, on 2005-12-12 at 14:04:16 (Rating 1, Comments)

Three days ago I blogged about the one day cricket match which New Zealand narrowly lost. Well, who would have guessed that the next game would be almost as close, involve even more runs, and (most importantly) result in a win for New Zealand, breaking a run of 8 losses to Australia!

This was another game with plenty of runs scored. New Zealand set a new record for a successful run chase in one day games. Admittedly, this was not the Aussies' strongest bowling line-up, but no Australian team is ever easy to beat, so it was still a great achievement.

No doubt its a concern that the all-rounders and bowlers are scoring more than the batsmen, but who cares? With exciting games, and good wins, like this we will be happy with whatever formula gets the results!
