Alien Moon Base

Entry 869, on 2008-10-14 at 22:28:24 (Rating 3, Skepticism)

When writing the blog entry yesterday I spent a bit of time at the creationists' web site and it actually struck me how believable their propaganda was. If I hadn't been exposed to the real facts through my university studies (many years ago) and other sources since then it would easy for me to be taken in by the material they presented.

But then I thought: its easy to prove any case you want as long as you present the "facts" in the right way. I listed these methods yesterday. Things like cherry picking (choosing the small numbers of facts which support your theory and ignoring the vast majority which reject it), quote mining (looking for quotes and choosing parts of quotes which make it look like prominent experts support your theory when they really don't) and lies (making a statement which has shown to be untrue, for example: evolution is disproved by the second law of thermodynamics).

So then I thought, if its so easy to prove your case this way why not give it a try myself? I decided I would spend a small amount of time researching a crazy topic and present a case showing it was true. I decide to prove that aliens have a base on the far side of the Moon. Here's my proof...

Many very credible witnesses have seen alien craft when orbiting the Earth and travelling to the Moon. For example in December 1965, Gemini astronauts James Lovell and Frank Borman saw a UFO; on July 17, 1962 Major Robert White reported a UFO during his flight in an X-15; Mercury astronaut Gordon Cooper had several experiences with UFOs. These are experienced military men, astronauts and pilots and they couldn't all be wrong about something as extraordinary as this.

And many of them take this seriously. Eugene Cernan, commander of Apollo 17, said in a Los Angeles Times article in 1973: "...I've been asked (about UFOs) and I've said publicly I thought they (UFOs) were somebody else, some other civilization." Mercury astronaut Cooper said: "I believe that these extraterrestrial vehicles and their crews are visiting this planet from other planets, which are a little more technically advanced than we are on Earth"; NASA pilot Joseph Walker said that one of his tasks was to detect UFOs during his X-15 flights, and he had filmed five or six of them. Milton Cooper, a Naval Intelligence Officer has said there is an alien Moon base which the U.S. Naval Intelligence Community refers to as "Luna", there is a mining operation going on there, and its where the aliens keep their mother ships.

So there is credible evidence that we are being visited by aliens and these visits have been happening for many years. It makes sense that the aliens would have a base close to the Earth but out of sight. What could be better than the far side of the Moon? According to Wikipedia: "Tidal forces between Earth and the Moon have slowed the moon's rotation so that the same side is always facing the Earth. The other face, which is never visible from the Earth in its entirety..."

But what evidence is there that there is a base on the Moon? There is actually quite a lot. Long time researcher Richard Hoagland has documented many anomalous structures on the surface of the Moon. Here are some examples...

The Castle is a strange object which was photographed during an Apollo mission (image number AS10-32-4822, an Apollo hand held Hasselblad photo). It seems to have a definite structure, like the remnant wall of some ancient building. The bottom looks as if it has rows of support columns, and above that is a high spire. The unenhanced version shows remarkable stacking and it has no a natural explanation. Enhancements show a supporting structure, including a drooping cable passing through the tip, like a suspension bridge.

The Ukert crater contains an amazing equilateral triangle. Each side of the triangle is exactly 16 miles in length and there three bright objects around the perimeter of the crater which would also form an equilateral triangle. This is clear evidence of intelligent design and couldn't simply be a fantastic coincidence.

The US government (and probably others) have known about the base and have been hiding it for many years. A military lab run by the NSA has analysed photos and, according to a high level technician there, enhanced imagery had clearly shown structures on the far side of the Moon. These structures were definitely not created by natural forces - they were made by intelligent beings. He has actually said this: "We discovered a base on the back side of the Moon."

Add to this various unexplained phenomena, such as transient lunar phenomena (TLP) with many reports dating from 1540 to 1969 which have been cataloged by NASA; videos of moving objects on the Moon's surface which are totally unexplained; and the mysterious nature of the far side (which was totally unexpected by scientists) and its clear that the alien base must be taken seriously.

Wow. After writing all of that I have almost convinced myself! Your job, as a reader, is to discover all of the tricks I have used to make the evidence look good. I will say that there is nothing above which I have just made up. It all refers to real incidents, real witnesses, and real events. I did this in about 30 minutes of research and writing. Imagine what the creationists can achieve after years of careful selection and presentation of their own brand of "facts".
