IT Support Frustration Discussion

Entry 140, on 2023-02-14 at 11:33:03

This discussion was about an IT support person's frustration where: "User's laptop not charging on docking station. Investigated issue: user's power strip was turned off. Switched power strip on; issue resolved. A ticket from today. They came to me and I asked them if it was turned on, and they said yes. They were wrong."

Other Commenter Daily basis incidents: Are you sure you haven't changed your password? No, I haven't, I proceed to check and indeed they had changed the password I was like.....

Other Commenter You are the chosen one!!

Other Commenter 101 from IT crowd

Me That's what we get paid the big bucks for!

Other Commenter This is FACTS!!!

Other Commenter The "big bucks?" What's your definition of big bucks?

Me Whatever it is, I was being sarcastic!

Other Commenter Why does this ticketing system look prehistoric?

Other Commenter Don't they all?

Me Looks pretty good to me, but I've seen some truly horrendous ones, so maybe I'm not a good judge.

Other Commenter Service now comes to mind.

Me So pleased I did a computer science degree so I can switch on power, remind people what their password is, restart their computer, etc.

The IT Humour and Memes group can be pretty entertaining. We usually share the frustrations of our work, but sometimes it can get more argumentative, especially if a PC versus Mac or Linux war erupts!
