SMC Reset on Laptops with Removable Batteries

These laptops include...
MacBook 13 inch, mid 2009.
All MacBooks and MacBook Pros, early 2009 and before.

Shut down.
Remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Reinstall the battery.
Turn on the Mac normally.
