Reset Spotlight Database

Macs use a database created by Spotlight to search for files, emails, and other items on Mac OS X. Sometimes this database can get damaged and searches don't work. To reset Spotlight use these commands from Terminal...

To erase all the local stores: sudo mdutil -E /
To set the indexing status ON: sudo mdutil -i on /
