I had prepared a particularly cunning treasure hunt based on a pirate theme (this basically entails putting lots of classic pirate talk - Arrrr! - in the clues).

The first piece of the map pointed to a tree near the top of the section, but maybe I had overestimated the kids' map-reading skills. Eventually, after a few clues, they figured the next part of the map was in the top of this tree.
