Aramoana: Taiaroa Head Lighthouse

The Taiaroa Head lighthouse was built in 1864. Lighthouse keepers ran it until 1921 when a signalman took over. It was automated in 1989 and is still in use today.

This photo was taken from Aramoana across the harbour using a 300 mm lens. These photos can be difficult because of the difficulty of focussing and keeping the camera still but this one turned out OK.
