The colour was strong amber brown with a substantial head. The aroma showed strong hoppy citrus fruit, and was slightly spicy, and very dry. It had intense bitter hop flavours, orange citrus fruit, and light malt. The beer had a light woody flavour, with very intense dry bitter hop flavours. In the NZ Beer Awards 2004 BrewNZ it won a gold medal.

Note 1 I am not really a beer expert (just an enthusiastic amateur), so please don't take my recommendations as anything more than a rough guide to these beers. I can take no responsibility if you buy a lot, on my recommendation, and then regret it!

Note 2 You may not agree with my evaluation of these beers as a lot of this is quite subjective. I tend to put a lot of emphasis on freshness and intense characteristic flavours and bouquet, so if you disagree you might just have different priorities.
